A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
My name is Yvette Esses, and I am an accredited kinesiologist a.k.a. exercise scientist. I'm a cross between a nerd and an athlete, with a loving soul.

I was always interested in health and science from an early age. My journey into this field actually began by studying the mind. As I was completing my degree in Psychology, I was getting more and more interested in fitness. After focusing on mostly cardio and some core training I started weight training with a personal trainer and realized there was so much more to fitness than I initially thought. It was an actual science, and learning the proper form of an exercise made all the difference. I set out on a quest to know as much as I could about fitness.

While studying Kinesiology at McGill University in Montreal thereafter, I got an in depth education of, among other things, anatomy and biomechanics, which I use to come up with my very own exercises. In my earlier explorative days, I would experiment at the gym to find new ways to target muscles in functional and ultra strengthening ways.
As a kinesiologist, I learned everything about how to prevent injuries through training, and all the training I administer to my clients has always consciously been designed to strengthen joints and limit unnecessary pressure on them.

I also learned about rehabilitating seniors with neuromuscular diseases such as Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, and strokes, and specialized in this area for a while. In addition, I have experience working as an ergonomic consultant where I evaluate a person's work space and advise the client on the necessary adjustments that need to be made for the body to be in its optimal position while working so as to prevent injuries.

Throughout my education and career I've tried multiple different sports, such as weight lifting, sprinting, running, parkour training, gymnastics, mixed martial arts, yoga, pole dancing, obstacle course racing, calisthenics, and most recently, contortion training.

With my deep knowledge and understanding of the body, my experience of multiple different areas and aspects of fitness, my creativity, and my caring heart, I come up with all sorts of exercises that are specific to your goals, whether it'd be reducing acute or chronic pain, getting a better posture, balance, core strength, or drills to help in athletic stunts such as handstands.

Fitness to me is fun and I make sure I carry that feeling over to my clients. With my training techniques, your joints will not hurt, you will learn how to properly use your muscles, you will be able to move better, and you will reach your goals.

As someone that is psychologically inclined and mindful, I have the ability to motivate you effectively and give you a more positive perspective on life and on yourself. Self love is very important and training with me will help you turn your intention of training from that of body disliking to body loving.

I have been teaching classes and training clients in Montreal, Canada since 2016. I love what I do and I want to be able to help people from all over the world.
That is why I offer my services primarily online through personal video sessions. That being said, I do offer sessions in person so don't be shy to reach out as I may be in your area anywhere in the world. :)
